Sophia brings a builder's perspective to her work at Realize 2050. Her core strength is translating — and negotiating — between business needs and technical realities, so that strategy reflects what the technology can actually do and engineering effort goes where the market is. She has honed that skill building hardware and software products across the consumer and energy sectors: first as a mechanical engineer and program manager at iRobot on the Roomba product line, then as a product manager for digital tools at Tesla. She went on to co-found Blip Energy, a distributed battery startup that won a $1.1M DOE grant and earned her a spot on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list for energy. Sophia holds an MBA and MS in Design Innovation from Northwestern University and a BA in Engineering Science from Harvard University. She lives in Chicago, where she can often be found exploring local food and drinks, or on the lakefront with her dog Joule.
