PG&E 2024 R&D Strategy and Innovation Summit
Realize 2050 (Realize) has worked with PG&E in 2024 to articulate its 2024 R&D strategy and support its Nov. 13 innovation summit in San Jose, CA, presented by DistribuTECH.
The theme of this year’s R&D efforts is the role of AI in creating an energy system with “superpowers.”
We encourage utility leaders, corporates, and entrepreneurs to join us in this work to create this change at PG&E’s Nov. 13 summit.

Building on PG&E’s 2023 R&D strategy report, this year’s report once again highlights the problem statements that, if solved, could help create an energy system that is resilient, reliable, affordable, and clean. This years report focuses on he role of AI and ML in shaping the future energy sysem.

Innovation Summit
PG&E’s Nov. 13 Innovation Summit will feature Patti Poppe in interviews with leaders that include Satya Nadella (CEO of Microsoft) and utility leaders including Ashad Mansoor (CEO of EPRI), Shinjini Menon (VP of System Planning and Engineering at SCE), and Ashley Smith (Chief Technology and Innovation Officer at AES).
